Sim­ply put, you’ve arrived at this web page because you stum­bled upon some­thing relat­ed to “The Dou­ble Date”, a cus­tom Alter­nate Real­i­ty Expe­ri­ence. “The Dou­ble Date” is a seem­ing­ly real, inter­ac­tive expe­ri­ence craft­ed specif­i­cal­ly for two indi­vid­u­als who were the win­ning bid­ders in a very real char­i­ty auc­tion in May 2011. Those two peo­ple are the “par­tic­i­pants” in “The Dou­ble Date” experience.

“The Dou­ble Date” con­sists of fic­tion­al char­ac­ters, com­pa­nies and events, all of which reside in the real world and are slow­ly being dis­cov­ered by the two par­tic­i­pants. The par­tic­i­pants must uncov­er clues, solve puz­zles and nav­i­gate the expe­ri­ence, all in order to reach a once-in-a-life­time dou­ble date in Sep­tem­ber 2011. The fact that you are read­ing this page like­ly means you inad­ver­tent­ly stum­bled upon one of those fic­tion­al char­ac­ters, com­pa­nies or oth­er ele­ments, and then clicked on a “What’s this?” link to try and fig­ure out just what the heck was going on.

In addi­tion, a sequel to “The Dou­ble Date” will be designed spe­cial­ly for the winner(s) of a sec­ond char­i­ty auc­tion to be held in Fall 2011.
